On the 8th of July Brook Green Centre for Learning joined with schools across Plymouth to take park in Woodland Wednesday run jointly by Natural Connections and Plymouth University. The event was to encourage schools to get out onto their woodland spaces and take part in outdoor f learning activities. Brook Green students worked with Alison Smith from Plymouth University to undertake a meadow Plant survey collecting samples and date of the flora next to the wood. They also had a chance to work with Chris Avent from Natural Connections in a Mini Beast Hunt in the river. Staff also offered activities with fire building with Mr Marshall and Mr Dixon along with Orienteering and a Litter pick. The whole day was a success and with the weather being kind to us the students enjoyed the event thoroughly.
