Fire Service Fun Day 2016On Friday 5th February, a group of Year 11's attended a 'fun' day at Plympton Fire Station. The students were divided into groups to complete leadership and problem solving tasks. Mrs Newcombe and Miss Aherne were both keen to be involved and duly dressed up in full uniform along with the rest of the students.
The tasks included navigating around a house in total blackness with breathing apparatus to rescue some 'missing children' that had been caught up in a fire. The students had to communicate effectively and work as a team to complete the tasks. They also had to crawl in tunnels and use fire searching procedures to assess and navigate the rescues. Amy, Bronwyn, Travis, Nina, Brandon, Connor and Luke worked brilliantly together and the Firemen were incredibly impressed with the group throughout the day.
