No Pens Day at Brook Green!
On Thursday 28th September 2019, all students at Brook Green ‘put down their pens and picked up their language’. The day full was of exciting speaking and listening activities such as following verbal instructions to create copper sulphate crystals, making paper models, following instructions to cut metals, describing the process of crystal formation, reading their own poetry and commenting on the vocabulary in the poetry of others. Year 7 performed their persuasive presentations about their special chosen WWF animal they hoped we would adopt and they even had a special visit from the Governors who listened to all of their wonderful presentations! Students also took part in reading foreign languages and translating the words verbally as well as many other activities across the curriculum. There were also amazing workshops on ‘freeing the voice’!
