Raising Students Health and Well-being Through Sport
As a School we have been very fortunate to raise the funding through our virtual schools to have Plymouth Raiders work with our students over a long period of time from September 2017 to July 2018.
These sessions will be on a weekly basis and will incorporate basic Literacy and Numeracy within the sessions.
Students interested in engaging with this opportunity are encouraged to talk to the exchange.
The sessions incorporate many aspects of individual wellbeing which include the following:
Commitment – team work – positive change – rules – boundaries – confidence – attendance – listening –
Co-ordination – equal opportunities – fun – literacy skill - numeracy skills – healthy eating etc.
There will also be opportunities to train with the players pre match in November 2017 where the students will have the experience to watch a league game and meet all the players and obtain autographs. (This will be at a small cost to Parents / Carers details out soon).
Some quotes from BGCFL students so far:
"Wow the players are so tall"
