Plastic Pollution at Wembury Beach
Following on from Year 10s visit to Wembury Beach, Coral Smith came into school to speak about plastic pollution. Coral is a Marine Wildlife Officer based at Wembury who has a lot of experience of working with our school. Coral was able to explain to the group some of the causes of plastic pollution and its growing impact on the oceans and more worryingly the food chain. She discussed ways of preventing plastics from entering the seas in the first place and gave the group ideas for ways we as a school could contribute. Her talk was much appreciated and has given the group lots of ideas to take forward next term.
Don't forget parents and carers next term Year 10 will be visiting Bovisand Beach on the 2nd March so let's be welly ready please!
