Plymouth Respect Festival 2013
On Saturday 12th October 2013, staff and students from Brook Green Centre for Learning took part in the Respect Festival Parade. The students who attended the parade were accompanied by members of their families.
As part of the Enquiring Minds week, the art work for the festival was made by students in the current year 8 and 9, back in July. They worked with the Respect Festival team, on the theme ‘Flight’, to create fantastic, colourful carnival like birds and costumes. These were worn or carried in the parade.
The parade was a celebration of diversity and Brook Green was fortunate to be one of the schools at the front, enjoying the music, dancing and spectacular costumes.
Taking part in the event was a fantastic and memorable opportunity. Our students were a credit to our school and the community.
