Brook Green Foodbank Collection - Christmas 2018
8SB and 8PEA are working on promoting the Foodbank collection at Brook Green again this year. We are asking staff and students to bring in food contributions in by Monday 17th December 2018 in relation to the following:
Tinned food, noodles, pasta, rice, cereal, UHT milk, long life fruit juice, tinned vegetables including tinned peas, tinned fruit, tinned meat and fish, tea bags, coffee, cereal, tinned or dry pet food, chocolate, biscuits and toiletries.
We found out that our Food Bank in Plymouth is particularly looking for: tinned peas, tinned fish, UHT milk, long life fruit juice, biscuits and men's toiletries.
We are going to do a KS3 assembly where we will let all of our students know what we are doing and we will also create another blog about this after the Foodbank have collected the items.
The Foodbank in Plymouth "is part of The Trussell Trust’s network of 428 foodbanks, working to tackle food poverty and hunger in our local communities, as well as across the UK.
The Foodbank Network was founded in 2004 after four years of developing the original foodbank based in Salisbury. Since then The Trussell Trust has helped communities work together to launch foodbanks nationwide in a wide range of towns and cities."
