Armistice Day 2014
Tuesday 11th November 2014
Our 100th Commemoration got off to rousing start when our pupils and staff were piped into school by a highland piper, called Martin Greaves. We spend a day investigated Plymouth’s role in the First World War by visiting Saltash Heritage Museum, Ford Park Cemetery, Weston Mill Cemetery, Devonport Park and the Stone of Remembrance, St. Aubyn’s Chapel Street, Devonport.
There were also school based activities were pupils investigated the story of the poppy and cooked WW1 recipes. Then after lunch, we had afternoon tea and a small group recreated the first Christmas in the trenches by playing a game of football.
