Cornwall at War Museum

As part of the whole school commemorations year 8 visited the Cornwall at War Museum at Davidstow. The visit started with a talk about why it was a World War before going off to explore the thousands of artefacts and memorabilia.

Students got to experience being in an air raid shelter and reading the logs from when the air base was functioning. In fact we found the report of 11th November 1943 which told us that the weather was pretty much the same. The visit finishes with the laying of one of the special Brook Green wreaths at a memorial where the ashes of someone who served at Davidstow airfield are .
