On Monday the 27th June, artist Karen Evans worked with 12 students, from all year groups to make headdresses of tigers. Students learnt about Chinese New Year and made tiger representations as this year is the year of the tiger. That afternoon, students worked with Suzie West, from the Barbican Theatre, to perform dance routines. The routines were practised in preparation for the Respect Festival Parade.

On Saturday the 9th of July, students and their families took part in the Respect Festival parade. The procession was accompanied by live music from different cultural origins. It was a colourful, vibrant, energetic procession and a great experience for all those who took part.

This was the first live Respect Festival since lockdown, which made it particularly special.
