On Tuesday the 8th of November, 9LW visited the British Art Show 9. This gave our students the opportunity to experience contemporary art in a gallery setting. They were able to discover ways to respond and relate to the artworks as well as ask questions. After viewing the artworks at St Lukes, they took part in activities that deepened their connection to the artists' work. Following this, our students explored their own creativity by working in pairs and making their own sculptures from a limited selection of materials. This was an excellent exercise in creativity, problem solving and teamwork. The rest of the time was spent viewing the exhibition at the Box, The Levinsky Gallery and The Mirror Gallery at the Art University Plymouth.
