Premises Manager - Full Time

Grade E £23,541 – £25,991

Required – Immediate start

We are looking to appoint a motivated, reliable and enthusiastic Premises Manager to join our team. The position is essential to facilitate the smooth and efficient running of school facilities. Successful applicants will add tremendous value by helping to make sure that our school is a safe place to work and learn in, but also enjoyable and inspirational. We are looking for a hands-on person, who is committed and practical. You must be able to work independently and ready to commit wholeheartedly to making an indelible mark on the school.

The Premises Manager, will be a key-holder and must be willing to be called out should an emergency arise.

The role involves managing the premises and cleaning team.

Applicants need to have a good understanding of health and safety and maintenance as you will be responsible for carrying out premises and grounds maintenance e.g. grass cutting, simple repairs, installation, general building maintenance (interior and exterior), compliance checks and security of the premises.

You will order and issue maintenance and cleaning materials. You will work to acceptable set standards and maintain admin records, so basic IT skills are beneficial. On occasions you may be required to drive school minibus.

We are seeking someone who is organised, able to manage their time and prioritise their workload, with good communication skills and enjoys practical work e.g. an experienced DIYer with the ability to work on maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, basic building work, gardening and use power tools.

 

This role is physical and you will be working outside throughout the year in all weather.

Particular qualities we will be looking for are:

  • An enthusiastic ‘can do’ approach

  • An eye for detail

  • A proactive thinker who is willing to share ideas for improvement

  • Experience of general maintenance

  • A willingness to undertake a mini bus driving qualification

  • A good team player

  • Willingness to develop new skills to help develop the talents of the team

 

Although we are looking for someone with general maintenance skills a background or experience in a trade would be beneficial e.g. carpentry, painting & decorating, plumbing etc.

Premises Assistant - Full Time (2 part time roles would be considered)

Starting salary  £18,933. (Split shift 7am to 11am and 3pm to 6.30pm)

Brook Green has a permanent vacancy for a full time Premises Assistant (split shift or two part time employees) who will be responsible for ensuring that our facility is maintained to a high standard, providing a pleasant environment in which students and staff can work and learn.  

This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to start a career in premises management and there will be opportunities for specialist training and further development in the future.
