Our Safeguarding Commitment

Brook Green Centre for Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We believe that our students have a right to learn in a supportive, caring and safe environment which includes the right to protection from all types of abuse; where staff are vigilant for signs of any student in distress and are confident about applying our safeguarding processes to avert and alleviate any such problems. All teaching and support staff must undertake the required pre employment checks which include the uptake of references, employment history checks, internet searches and a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Current Vacancies

Grounds and Caretaking Assistant vacancy

 

Contract: 22 hours x 52 weeks

Salary: Grade C

Under the supervision of the Premises Manager, you will help maintain the school grounds, with a focus on creating and caring for garden areas that support learning and ensure site safety. Duties include planting, weeding, mowing and basic pest control, alongside some caretaking responsibilities.

 

You will carry out daily inspections of external areas, identifying damage or vandalism and reporting findings promptly. The role requires flexibility to adapt to seasonal needs, safe use of tools and materials in line with health and safety regulations, and a collaborative approach to supporting the wider school environment.

Ideal candidates will be reliable, proactive, and committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming outdoor space for pupils and staff.
