Dear Parents /Carers
We are all experiencing unprecedented times and decisions. We understand the huge challenges faced by you, your children and school staff.
I am writing to inform you that at the time of writing we will be open from Monday 23rd March until Friday 27th March as per usual. However, given the uncertainty of the virus we are planning day by day and will have no option but to close the school if it is not safe to remain open due to staffing levels.
If children can stay safely at home they should in order to limit the chance of the virus spreading to the most vulnerable and increase the risk to school staff and their families. This will not affect their attendance. If your child is not attending school please ensure you advise transport not to pick them up and let us know as well. A huge thank you to those of you who are keeping us informed regularly.
If your child is attending next week they do not need to wear uniform but wear clothes and footwear suitable for being outdoors including activities such as walking. School meals will still be available to purchase as normal and if your child is provided with a meal this will continue as well.
Over the Easter holidays we are looking at how we can support you if your work is critical to the COVID 19 response. If you fall into any of the categories listed below please e mail in on the contact form on the front page of the website once you have confirmed with your employer that based on their business continuity arrangements that your specific role is necessary for the continuation of this essential public service. Please provide the name of your employer in your email which needs to reach us by the end of Monday 23rdMarch in order for us to plan for Easter.
Health and Social Care
Education and Childcare
Key public services
Local and national government
Food and other necessary goods
Public safety and national security
Transport
Utilities, communication and financial services
We will have to prioritise who we can support as staff are volunteering to cover this period of time to support essential key workers.
We have work packs available for after the Easter break. There are some great resources now on the BBC website for example if you are looking for ideas over the holidays. If we are closed after Easter, we will be sending out learning activities and ideas.
We will keep in touch with any updates we may have, however you are currently hearing them at the same time as us through the daily news briefings.
Thank you for your support at this very difficult time. If you have any questions please contact us through the website.
Yours sincerely
Sara Jordan
