Did you know...? A fire engine can contain 1800 litres of water?

Today the Year 11 Life and Employability Skills class met Caroline Anderson from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service to talk about various careers within the fire and rescue service as well as the training needed to cover all aspect of fire and rescue.

To support our preparation for adulthood agenda, Caroline also talked about safety in the home, for example, testing your fire alarms weekly, shutting doors at night, not overloading extension leads or charging devices overnight and what to do in the event of a fire. She also talked about road safety and being a safe passenger in the car - not distracting the driver or messing with seatbelts.

Thank you for your time today Caroline!
