On Thursday, a group of Year 10 students attended the Maritime Roadshow for girls at the National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth. The students participated in a variety of STEM workshops and activities. They included the Inspiration Zone where the students had 'speed dating' style sessions in small groups and had discussions with female STEM employees from a variety of occupations and companies. The students asked questions about career paths and qualifications and enjoyed listening to the employees' experiences. They also took part in the Investigation Zone where they completed a sails type experiment based on the America's Cup technologies. The students throughout enjoyed their STEM experience and came away with a more in-depth understanding of STEM jobs and career opportunities.
