For Maths Day, the Year 7 students took part in a variety of fun and engaging activities, including memory games, hexagon tile challenges, bug hotel construction, origami, and music-based maths activities. These hands-on tasks encouraged them to develop their mathematical thinking through problem-solving, pattern recognition, shapes, symmetry, rhythm, counting, and logical reasoning. The activities demonstrated that maths can be creative, practical, and enjoyable, helping students build confidence while learning in a fun and interactive environment. The day was a great success, with everyone enthusiastically taking part and discovering that maths can be exciting as well as educational.

Year 8 students took part in an exciting football golf challenge, combining sport with mathematics in a fun and interactive way. As they made their way around the course, they used a range of mathematical skills, including counting shots, keeping score, estimating distances, measuring angles, and solving problems to improve their performance. The activities showed how maths can be applied in real-life situations while encouraging teamwork, communication, and strategic thinking. Despite the hot weather, the students had a fantastic day, thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to learn maths outside the classroom in an active and engaging environment.
