Mathsday at Smeardon Down

A group of students visited Smeardon Down on Dartmoor. They navigated to Stephen's Grave and then took grid references. They looked at different ways to calculate their location, using traditional and modern technologies and apps. From there they investigated how ancient cultures marked time and location. Lunch was convened at the top of White Tor, in the Neolithic fort that could have been in existence before the time of the pyramids.
