Patriots - Playoffs


20 Brook Green students accompanied by 5 staff members had an amazing opportunity on Sunday 24th April 2022 to go to a Plymouth City Patriots game at Plymouth Pavilions. They all engaged with a basketball session with the community coaches followed by a meet and greet with the Players prior to watching the game.

This game was a crucial game for Patriots and Newcastle as it was a winner takes all game for either team.

The Plymouth City Patriots, with their destiny in their own hands, took on the Newcastle Eagles where a victory would see either team secure the eighth place in this season's playoffs.

It was a tense Sunday afternoon following their Friday night loss to this season's league champions, Leicester Riders. Friday’s result set up a playoff decider between the home team, Patriots, and the visiting Newcastle Eagles, where a victory would see either team secure the eighth seed and a place in this season's playoffs.

This game was edge of your seat from start to finish for all that attended the game. The atmosphere throughout was amazing all Students were a credit to themselves and Brook Green.

Students from Brook Green have been so inspired by the Patriots one family has successfully purchased tickets for the playoff against Leicester away Sunday 1st May 2022

And awaiting tickets to go on sale for Friday 29th April 2022 at Plymouth Pavilions.

Three other students play an active part in Honicknowle Hornets basketball team coached by one the Patriots Community Coaches.

Brook Green would like to wish the Patriots all the best in the Playoffs.
