Last week on Tuesday and Wednesday we had the great fortune to accept and welcome some volunteers from the Royal Navy to assist us with some much needed maintenance around the schools grounds.
8 ranks turned up the first day and then 10 for the second. With much enthusiasm and desire to do some manual work on dry land, they set about every task asked and surpassed all our expectations.
Completed work included, removing unwanted items from the pond bottom and some of its waterborne weeds, cleared its banks of weeds and brambles, cut the hedge by the upper polly tunnel and dug over all the beds which were no longer in use in the allotment area.
