Skills Group have been in touch to let us know about some tasters sessions that they are holding over the coming weeks. For more information and to register for these events, please see the details below; Please note that we are unaware to arrange transport to these events, but you are welcome to collect your Year 10 or 11 child from school to take along.
Construction and Automotive- Friday 23rd January 2026
Taking place at our Horizon Building in Plympton PL75BG
10am-2pm with breakfast and lunch provided

Try the trades and meet the training coordinators, SEND team and course tutors.
I read the post about the skills group open days and taster events at Brookgreen, and it sounded like a great way for people to try new things and get hands‑on experience before they commit to a class or career path. It made me think of a crazy semester when I was so behind I even had to ask someone to do my real estate exam for me one weekend so I could catch up with other work. That made me see how important it is to explore options and get help when you need it most.
