Social Inequality

Year 10 were learning about social inequality today as part of the Jigsaw PSHEE scheme of work. The activity was designed to physically demonstrate that the unfairness we all experience in life but distilled into a footrace.  The prize of 10 house points (sorry Hayleigh) for the winner.  All the students started off on the same line and then I read out statements and depending on their answers they could take two paces forward which gave some students an unfair advantage over the others.   The activity brought home that in life we face barriers some people have a better chance of winning but we should still run the race, but more importantly try to challenge social inequality wherever and whenever we see it.
