Year 10 Experiences of the Work Place Derriford District Centre Site Visit

Today we took a group of four Year 10 students along to Derriford District Centre building site to see the different types of construction careers that go into building a new retail complex. 

Carla and Stu gave a talk about the types of work that Devon Contractors undertake from building retail parks, car showrooms, leisure centres, schools and homes then we had a tour of the site and Dan from Plym Bricklaying set a task for the students to build a wall. All the students enjoyed trying getting their hands on the trowels, muck and bricks and impressed us all with their workmanship!
