Our Year 11 students enjoyed a truly memorable visit to Stratford‑upon‑Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare and home of the world‑famous Royal Shakespeare Company. It was a stunning spring day, and the town looked beautiful as we explored its historic streets and landmarks. Students had the opportunity to visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace, stepping inside the very house where he was born and raised. From there, we walked through the town centre, taking in the Tudor buildings, the riverside views, and the atmosphere of a place so deeply connected to our literary heritage.
The highlight of the day was watching a powerful performance of Henry V at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Experiencing Shakespeare’s words brought to life on stage was inspiring for our students, especially as we travelled the day before Shakespeare Day — 23rd April — the date of both his birth and his death. This added a special sense of significance to the trip, making the experience even more meaningful.
Our students represented the school brilliantly throughout the day, showing curiosity, maturity, and enthusiasm. It was a wonderful visit from start to finish, and one that we hope will stay with them as they continue their studies.
