Building Plymouth - Adopt-a-School programme

Building Plymouth is an initiative led by Plymouth City Council and aims to connect people with construction career opportunities.

Part of this includes working with schools to develop an awareness of various different roles within the sector and encouraging students who may not have necessarily thought about construction roles previously. Labour Market Information (LMI) suggests a significant skills gap in construction trades and forecasts trends over coming years to identify where there will be a need for skilled tradespeople.

This year, Building Plymouth have launched their Adopt-a-School programme which allocates a local construction giant to a school enabling them to provide information about various career roles, potential work experience placements or site visits and access to resources to support and promote construction trade careers.

We are delighted to have been adopted by Drew and Co, a local company who have designed and built installations across a variety of sectors for over 30 years. We are looking forward to welcoming Andy and the team into Brook Green and hope to see some budding trades people!
