Starting this week and running right through to March 8th young people of Plymouth have an opportunity to vote for two Members and two Deputy Members of Plymouth Youth Parliament. The outlines of all the candidates campaigns can be seen in the video.
Plymouth Youth Parliament enables young people aged 11-18 years across the City of Plymouth to come together once a week to give young people a voice and to represent the future constituents of the city. All this year's candidates focusing on important issues like the cost of living crisis, SEN provision in the city and ending violence against women and girls.
I am really pleased that one of the candidates for this year's elections is a student of Brook Green who is campaigning for better mental health support in schools and citywide. He makes a strong case for increased help for those experiencing anxiety and to make sure the student voice is at the centre of the solutions. I hope that everyone in our school community votes for Jaden!
